Hi,Thanks a lot for using my adapter and contacting me. There are two (SOAP & REST) adapters. I assume that you are on the SOAP, which rides on the top of the RFORCE gem. RForce GEM is the one setting the header information.

It is true that to access the MetaData APIs, you will need a different set of Headers. Please see the <a href="http://www.salesforce.com/us/developer/docs/api_meta/index_Left.htm#StartTopic=Content/meta_quickstart.htm" rel="nofollow">this link</a>.

Now, there is a new adapter for Force.com, which just release during DF 2011. Please read Quinton Wall's email to the ActiveSalesforce usergroup.

As promised, here's a little Ruby treat for your Dreamforce week!
http://blogs.developerforce.com/developer-relations/2011/08/new-force-com-and-database-com-ruby-gem-now-available.html

I suggest you contact him, because he is the developer evangelist for Salesforce and may have some inside track information. His email: Quinton Wall <quintonwall@gmail.com>

Yes, the group did have a conference earlier in the spring this year. We discussed about this situation.

Good luck to you.

Hi Raymond!
I am a developer of Incite2 application (an add-on for Salesforce, written in RoR). In my application I'm using modified asf-adapter gem (used LibXML parser instead of ReXML to increase performance, implemented ability to query large amount of records, not limited by BATCH_SIZE, etc...).
Now I need to implement some Metadata API calls (like listMetadata, describeMetadata) and found that these calls require different API endpoint server. Also, looks like, they require some different XML headers than those ones used in asf-adapter.
So I wanted to ask you if your gem/adapter supports these calls and I'll have much less to do if it does :).

Thanks for any help.
